This comes after Intergrations and takes place Janurary 1997. These nine characters cannot be borrowed, as Mistri is using them in a story for publication. They are protected under international copyright law.

Coming To Terms

It was January 2nd, 1997, and one Vedi Halai was walking down the street, when a squad of foot soldiers appeared.

"NejiNinjetti," she snarled. She twisted her left wrist. Her morpher appeared. She thrust her fists forward and shouted "PHAEDOS NOVASEVEN ACTIVATE!" Red light glowed around her wrists and shot upwards to her fingers, encasing them in a grey and red material. Then it came back, properly forming her gloves. It travelled up her arms, and then around her body, leaving her head free. As soon as her suit was formed, a condor could be heard shrieking, and one flew towards her, forming her helmet.

An instant after she had shouted, she was morphed and ready to kick butt. She was whirling through them with her sword, when she noticed a white flash. It was Kimberly Coltran.

"Kim, help!" she cried. Kim leapt into action against the NejiNinjetti, and soon they had them beaten. Kim then told her to hurry to the Power Chamber.

Touching her belt, she teleported away in a sparkle of red light. There she saw the Morphin Rangers along with her team.

"Okay gang. We have to get training with our powers to see what we can do."

Billy and Trini preferred to train together as did Tommy and Kim Hart. Mistri paired up with Vedi, and Zack with Jason. Dalila and Bambi teamed up, as did Edy and Karei. Asharani, Geneva and Calcia were a group together. As a group they then headed for the Training area. Dimitria was in a tube in the Observation area. Alpha, Dana and Tyra were also on hand. Tyra to monitor power levels and Dana in case any of them needed first aid. Dimitria let them do some weapons training. The Rangers morphed and went easy on their weapons which was good since the Phaedos team had some real lethal weapons.

"I'll have to be careful when I try out my weapon that's for sure," Tyra said just as Tommy went to play a tune on his Dagger. Alpha went running out.

"Tommy, no otherwise you'll summon the DragonZord," Alpha cried out.

"Oops," Tommy said. Thankfully he had only gotten two notes out.

"I think that's enough weapons practice, demorph and work on your hand to hand," Dimitria said.

The Rangers then went into action after demorphing . Tyra paid attention to Zack's moves which seemed off for some reason. As she was checking her instruments she saw a small light flash a few times.

"Dimitria, we have an alarm," Tyra announced, unfortunately the microphone was turned on and as a result fifteen heads in the Training Room looked up. "Sector 5, two platoons of Gearheads and a monster."

"Should you not alert your team?" Dimitria wondered.

"If we are the go Team," Tyra said. "Team Capsilon to the War Room." She called over the master intercom.

Alpha and Dana stayed but Tyra and Dimitria headed off. They reconvened in the War Room by this time the other Demona Rangers were on hand.

"A monster along with two platoons of Gearheads are in Sector 5," Tyra said.

"Let's go then," Sue exclaimed. "Demona Ranger Power." Soon after that she was attired in a red suit with the Demona symbol of a sword behind a heraldic shield on the right arm. White trim separated off the various areas. When she looked over there were eight others in similar suits of Green, Blue, Pink, Yellow, White, Titanium Silver, Black and Purple.

They then teleported to the battle scene. The monster looked like a combination of a car body and a plane.

"Greetings Rangers," the Monster said. "I wondered when you would show up."

"All you had to do is call and order a pizza with extra Basket Attack," Brianca said as she fired her energy weapon which caused basketball sized balls of energy to slightly ding the monster's chest.

"Maybe you'd like a side order of Turbo Blast," Tyra said as she ended up falling on her rear from the recoil of the energy blasts leaving her hands.

"Tyra, you all right?" Barakus wondered as he lifted his teammate up.

"Yeah just wasn't expecting the recoil. Thanks Barakus," Tyra said.

This is one tough Cookie that's for sure," Barakus commented as Sue got her sword out. Janet had her twin Katana's out as well. Andrew then removed a small almost like a dagger from a gauntlet on his left wrist which encased his morpher. He then raised the dagger in his right arm and formed a circle using the thumb and Fore Finger of his left hand around the blade leaving space he then pulled the dagger slowly out to reveal a sword with a four foot blade.

"OK Rangers get ready," Sue ordered.

"We're as ready as we'll ever be Sue," Sean declared.

The Rangers then went into battle against the monster. Like most battles it basically consisted of the monster beating the rangers up while they were barely able to get a few shots in unless it was utilizing the Basket Attack and Turbo Blast energy weapons which had powerful recoils.

"Sue, you think we should regroup and get the others like maybe Team Phaedos," Kim suggested.

"No, we can take this guy down," Sue figured.

Meanwhile at the bunker Dana was looking at one of the readouts.

"Dimitria, they are getting too badly pounded they've gotta regroup. Tyra especially," Dana said.

"Is it not Sue's decision whether to regroup or not?"

"Generally yes but their attacks are making the monster stronger," Dana told her.

"I agree with Dana regrouping is the best solution," Billy said as he checked one of the other readouts.

"Yet how will we get Sue to agree?" Dimitria wondered.

"Alpha, teleport the Rangers here," Dana said.

The Rangers then appeared a few seconds later their weapons back in subspace.

"Dimitria why did you pull us from battle?"

"Sue, your attacks were making him stronger we had no choice," Billy said.

"So what's our next move go after him from the zords? That would be overkill?" Sue wondered.

"Billy, mind if I look over the readings?" Janet wondered.

"Go right ahead Janet," he responded to his cousin's request. Janet and Tyra both we soon pouring over the readouts on the monster. Janet then moved to another machine and was writing a large program. She carefully saved the program.

"Hopefully we won't need it," she muttered.

"What were you writing?" Alpha wondered.

"Just a little something dealing with the Zords. My concern is that the Megazords might not be enough if we have to resort to using our zords and I think we will," Janet said.

The Rangers went on Alert with the Phaedosian team going on standby Alert. After a couple hours a fresh alarm went out.

"The monster is back," Alpha said.

"Let's go," Sue said grabbing her helmet. "Where is he?"

"Sector 15," Alpha said.

The Rangers then headed into action once again.

"I see you've returned. Try this on for size Rangers," The monster said as he grew.

"Not good," Brianca observed.

"We need Battlezord Power Now," they called out. Fairly soon the Tankzord, Command Zord and Emplacerzord were in position. Sasha, Kim, Janet, and Tyra then teleported off with Andrew to the flight deck of the Carrierzord where their zords awaited. A faint appearance of a sail on the surface showed Barakus was ahead of them. Fairly soon both jets and both choppers were in the air.

"Alpha, initiate Zord control protocol Demona beta 8," Janet called.

"What is that Janet?"

"It's part of the program I wrote," Janet said. "It's the control codes for the SuperAirzord and SuperRotorzord."

"What are those?" Kim wondered. "They weren't covered in the briefing with the others."

"They are the duo modes of our four zords. One combines the Strike Eagle Zord with the Airzord and the other combines the Rotorzord and Chopzord."

Kim and Tyra then combined their zords into the SuperAirzord. Janet and Sasha left their zords separated. Pretty soon the Super Airzord was taking a real assault on the monster.

"Kim, Tyra, aim your weapons at the intersection of his head with his left shoulder," Barakus called over the communications system.

"What good would that do?" Kim wondered.

Tyra aimed a sensor pod at the spot.

"It's where he stores the energy he collects from our attacks. In affect it's a weak spot," Tyra realized. She then aimed at the spot in question. Soon as the energy vat was destroyed the monster definitely appeared weaker.

The two zords then separated. Kim then changed her zord into it's Megazord Mode. The main ones then combined into the Demona MegaBattleZord. Three quick swipes with the Saber and that monster was toast. The Rangers then returned to the Chamber.

"You all did great out there," Billy said.

"I agree that was awesome," Carter said.

"It would have been harder without Janet's programming skills," Sue said.

"You haven't seen anything yet Sue," Janet said. "I developed some real powerful systems."

A short time later Tyra was stretched out on the couch in her room when Zack walked in.

"Up Tyra," he inquired.

"Not too much Zack. That was a tough battle today. You had it easy just training."

"You'll have to spend some time on training as well Tyra."

"Not as much though considering," Tyra hinted.

"Which is almost too bad if you ask me," Zack commented.

"It's probably for the best Zack that I am restricted in how much training I do After all my powers won't protect the baby from harm when I'm unmorphed."

"If only I could figure out what one of the Phaedos Rangers said to me a few days ago after you were done talking to Edy. Something about how both Joel and I should look right in front of us."

"What do you and Joel both have in common besides racial identity?" Tyra wondered.

"He is as hopeless over his desired girl as I am. That could be it but I haven't given up hope yet on getting Angela," Zack said.

Hopeless is right as it is Angela isn't the right type for him. That scientist Joel is after definitely isn't the right type for him. As it is Calcia is wooing over him and he hasn't even noticed and if Garrett wasn't in the picture Zack would be a nice choice to be a father to my own child.

The next day, the Phaedos Rangers were quietly training. Tyra had managed to freeze their lethal component part, but she wasn't sure how long it could hold, due to the incredible amounts of power that the Phaedos Rangers could command.

Problem was, Calcia's weapon, Geneva's weapon, Karei's weapon were all acting strangely around each other.

But they let it go, since Tyra, Billy, Janet, Ashley and Kendrix were monitoring their power levels. Nothing could go wrong as long as they were there.

Mistri hadn't tried to spin his staff, since that couldn't be bypassed. He was attacking the others with great speed and agility, tripping and blocking as well as he could. Geneva was doing the same as Mistri but also using the flames. Calcia was carefully lashing out with her whip.

Tyra noticed this, before the power levels began to fluctuate rapidly. She began to type as fast as she could, into the consoles, to try and stabilise the power levels.

Their weapons flared with light, and the Phaedos Rangers didn't notice. They continued onwards. But their weapons began to inflict slight damage, which they registered, but as a secondary complaint.

Billy had morphed, to see if they could correlate the power levels. Kendrix whistled. They were going steady at 63.10675356 times the strength of Billy's morph.

Inside the Training Room, the Black Ice Whip wrapped around the Green Flame Staff. The power began to collide. Janet swore as she noted the power indicator shoot through the roof. The White Singing Staff, Pink Ultra Bow, Blue Probabilty Laser, Yellow Phaedos Alairete, Red Nexus Sword, Gold Element Daggers, and Silver Invisibility Axe began to vibrate strongly, while getting brighter with internal light.

"USE YOUR WEAPONS!! IT MIGHT DRAIN THE POWER!!!" screamed Ashley, as Janet and Billy tried to get a teleportational lock on them. Both came too late.

In blinding light the Training Room exploded.

January 14th.

The Rangers were finally picking throught the debris of the Training Room. The smoke had finally cleared and it was safe to enter. Right after the place had exploded Billy had run seventy-six scans on the room, each time turning up no life signs. Finally, he had resigned himself to the fact they were gone.

They had scanned every possible place. There were no indicators of their DNA, not that there would have been, their alien mix of DNA obscured them from scans, and no indicators of their powers, except in the Training Room.

Joel had gone to.. well, it was his room now, and noticed that the black flower that Calcia had treasured so much, was dead.

The red and white heart that Mistri and Vedi had crafted together out of glass was shattered when Carter dared to look inside.

Rocky had seen Asharani's blue bean-bag torn apart when he finally ventured into his room.

Zhane came across Karei's burned music box. It had once been yellow.

David had seen Edy's hand crafted pink bedspread in tatters when he finally decided to get some sleep.

Damon had almost sat on Geneva's green jewelry box. It was splintered and looked awful now.

Ryan and Kim Coltran had looked inside the room that Dalila and Bambi had shared, and noted with grief that Dalila's golden teddy bear had been mutilated, and that Bambi's silver cloak that she loved wearing lay in ribbons.

None of the Rangers would have dared defile their fallen friends' memories in such a way. And so, they slowly came together in their grief, and dealt with it as best as they could.

That is, after all, what friends do.
