In The Monkees celluloid debut, the band is hired to play at Vanessa Russell's
sweet sixteen dance party. However, after falling for Davy, the birthday
girl's grades fail and the boys must first help Vanessa (played by Robyn
Milan) pass her history exam before playing her shindig. Songs include
"I Wanna Be Free" (both fast and ballad versions) and "Let's Dance On."
Davy Jones' and Michael Nesmith's October 1965 black & white screen
tests are also included.
