She's What?
by Melanie Bisson

"Adam?" the voice didn't even come close to penetrating Adam Park's thoughts. "Adam!" The hand shaking his shoulder did manage to break his concentration, though. He looked up to see Tommy looking at him curiously. "What was so interesting to think about you didn't hear me for ten minutes?"

_Dulcea,_ Adam thought at once. "Oh, nothing much," he said out loud. He had never told any of the Rangers what had happened between him and Dulcea that night on Phaedos. He'd wondered often if Dulcea thought of him as much as he thought of her. They had told each other they loved each other, but was that all it would come to? One night of unbridled passion, and then nothing?

"Adam!" Tommy broke into his thoughts one more time. "Come on, talk to me! You've been drifting off into your own little world for three months now, ever since we got back from Phaedos! Is something wrong?"

_Wrong? Well... not exactly. It's hard to say, Tommy. You see, I fell in love with the Master Warrior of Phaedos, and she fell in love with me, we made love that one night we were there, and I haven't been able to think of hardly anything but her since then. I don't think that qualifies as wrong. But I'm not with her, and that's certainly not right._

"No," he smiled a little at his friend. "Nothing's wrong."

_I miss you, Dulcea. I miss you so much._

_I miss you, Adam. I think of you every moment of every day that has gone by. I miss your hands on me, I miss your lips on mine, I miss the strength of your lovemaking. I want you here with me so much._

Dulcea sighed as she gazed up at the gleaming star that was the sun of Earth. Earth, where dwelt her beloved. Earth, besieged by evil, and defended by the Power Rangers. Adam, the Black Ranger, with the spirit of the Frog, and the heart of Phaedos' master warrior.

"I love you, Adam," she whispered, feeling that somehow, somewhere, he could hear or sense her words. "I love you more than I can tell."

She sighed a little, and then stiffened, feeling a strange fluttering in her stomach. No, not precisely in her stomach. In her womb. She would've gone pale if it were possible for a woman of her courage to do so. _Could it be? Could it truly be?_

Though Phaedos looked uninhabited to the casual eye, and the Rangers had met only her while they were there, it supported a thriving population in other parts of the world. She could not leave the plateau without risking aging and death, but she could and did call a physician from one of the Phaedosian cities to come and examine her.

"The results are plain, Warrior Dulcea," she was told. "You are pregnant."

Dulcea's eyes widened briefly. _Oh, Adam. I must tell you of this. But how, when I cannot pass beyond the plateau of Phaedos? There must be a way... somehow._

_You must know you are to be a father._

Adam sank quietly into the bathtub, closing his eyes and relaxing. He'd been working out all afternoon, then while he and the others had been on their way home from school, they'd had to deal with a monster attack. Things just hadn't been going his way today.

_First Tommy catches me daydreaming about Dulcea... good thing he couldn't read my mind! Then I almost get crushed by that monster... also because I had Dulcea on my mind! I wish I could stop thinking about her. Then again, no I don't. I don't ever want to stop thinking about her._

He took several deep breaths. He had to get her off her mind, at least, for a little while. His dreams had been full of her lately, in fact for the last three months, he had dreamed of her every night. They had only had a single night together, but it was more than enough to capture his heart and soul.

"Adam," the voice was soft and gentle, and so full of love. He looked up to see Dulcea standing next to him, sweet and beautiful and actually in his bathroom!

"Dulcea!" he sat up straight, a mild fear filling him. "There's nothing wrong, is there? I mean... I thought you couldn't leave the plateau on Phaedos."

She smiled, and pushed him gently back down into the water. In between one heartbeat and the next, she wore nothing but her own glorious hair as she joined him in the tub. "I normally cannot. But tonight is a very special night, when Earth, Phaedos, and Edenoi are all lined up in an extremely rare conjunction. The energy created by it allows me to leave Phaedos, but it will not last long. When the sun rises here, I must return home."

"Your one night out, in who knows how long, and you came to see me?" he whispered as her fingers walked across his chest.

Dulcea smiled and leaned closer to kiss him sweetly on the lips. "Whom else would I see? There is no one I have loved in all my life more than I love you, Adam," she lifted his hands to cup her breasts, sliding down to lie upon him.

"D... Dulcea," he whispered. "There's not quite enough room in here for that!" _I wish there was, I don't want to move!_

She smiled a little. "Quite true. Where would you like to go?"

"My parents are gone for the weekend," he told her. "We can go to my room." As soon as he said that, they found themselves there, stretched out on his bed. Dulcea reached out to capture and caress his mouth with her own, and his entire anatomy responded to that kiss. "Dulcea," he whispered over and over again.

"Adam," she replied, speaking his name with more than just his lips, speaking with her hands, her lips, her breasts, her legs, and her entire body! Her hands stroked every inch of his body, paying particular attention to his crotch.

As they had three months earlier, they made love all night long, exploring every possible method that two people could experience that particular expression of romance. Adam had never enjoyed himself more, not even during their first lovemaking session on Phaedos.

It was almost morning when they finally had to stop. Dulcea curled up next to Adam and smiled at him. "There was another reason I came to visit you tonight, Adam."

"Why?" he looked at her, so warm and lovely in the pale predawn light. "Not that I'm complaining or anything."

"You're going to be a father, Adam. I'm pregnant," was all Dulcea said before teleporting away a bare moment before the sun rose, ending the conjunction that permitted her to be away from Phaedos. Adam stared at the space where she had been.

"She's what?"

End?
